dupeGuru is a file application that can search and display duplicate files on your hard drive.dupeGuru is the general application for these kind of jobs, issued by this producer. I also tested dupeGuru Music Edition, and dupeGuru Picture Edition which are very good applications for their particular cases. The particular applications are better for the dedicated jobs, but if you need a universal application, then dupeGuru is for you.
From the performance point of view, dupeGuru is somewhere between the previously tested applications. It works very fast with medium sized directories, in the same way as dupeGuru Music Edition works, but it gets stuck if you add huge directories, in the same way as dupeGuru Picture Edition does.

The interface provides you quick access to the list of scan directories, some various functions, and a nice button which can start the whole scanning process. The 'Preferences' pane is also simple, and in provides just a few features which can customize the number of scan results.
With the report list you can do various actions such as moving, deleting or copying the duplicate files, or you can do tasks like opening the files with a selected application.
If you're looking for advanced features, then the application has them. For example the 'Actions' menu allows you to do a lot more than you can do from the interface and the contextual menus.
Pluses: it gives you the possibility to search and remove the duplicate files; it provides advanced statistics; it provides advanced file information; it has an easy to use interface while it provides some advanced functionality in the program's menus.
Drawbacks / flaws: it gets stuck when trying to process large sized directories.
